A Texas Staycation

Well just when I was getting my blog going I come to a new halt.  Ya see I went on vacation and I really thought that since I was going to be on vacay I would have more time to put a few posts together.  Not!  It was a fun, busy yet relaxing time out.  The few times I thought I was going to blog I'd get as far as turning on the computer and that was about it.  I got lazy and instead decided to catch up on all my trash t.v. thanks to the 'ol DVR. But take a look at our little staycation!

Mr. DP3 and I took the kids to Sea World for a couple of days.  Although it was hot like the sun-was-leaning-on-you-hot it was still enjoyable and the kids had a blast.  It was my girl's first time and she absolutely fell in love with the dolphins.  Shamu was cool too but it was the dolphins that captivated her.  Yet she was afraid to feed them or pet them.  Big brother had to assume that duty.  The pretty dolphy even posed for me:

While in San Antonio we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa and it was fancy-smanchy-lovely.  There were s'mores to be had every evening at the fire pit and then at dusk it was family movie night.  It felt so good to lay out on the lawn underneath the Texas night sky and watch a flick with the family.

Here I am enjoying the pool.  Ahhhhh!
Just before leaving S.A. back to Austin we had to make a lunch stop at one of my hubby's favorite San Antonio eateries- Chacho's.  He LOVES that place.  It is yummy yet a bit too much for my tummy.  Just take a look at my torta (Mexican sandwich).

For Big Bertha's sake!  Who can eat all that?  I only managed to eat half and saved the rest for din-din.

Anywho, that is a recap of our little staycation from Austin to San Antone and back.  A fun little getaway deep in the heart of Texas.  :)

Glass Vase Snowman Decor {Craft DIY}

Hello peeps!  Who is still stuffed from all of the Thanksgiving deliciousness?  Or broke from those fab after-Thanksgiving sales?  I don't do the whole crazy shopping thing but I am stuffed and happy.  I got to watch lots of t.v. and in my jammies.  Woot!

On to my latest project, except I made this last year so I'm kinda lying.  I never got to share this with you guys because of lots of computer problems.  Anywho, I made a snowman using two floral vases.

I was inspired to make this snowman after I saw another blogger make with decor with round floral vases.  She used different glitter for each vase and then topped each one with a witch hat.  It was classy and cute.  And darn.  I wish I could remember that blogger and her site.
Well here is how I got down to business when making this snowman.

Supplies:
2 - round floral vases 1 - sponge brush Mod Podge 1 - small jar of white glitter 2 - sheets black felt w/glitter scissors craft or felt glue 2 - lids from food canisters (like oatmeal) …

Easter Egg and Vase Decor {Craft DIY}

Happy Good Friday lovely people.  Easter is my favorite holiday and sadly I haven't decorated much for this Holy celebration.  I have been so busy (I'm always saying that!) and I won't dare go up in the attic to get my decorations.  The attic freaks me out so I always send the hubby to get my things; although he too is a very busy man this tax season.  Anywho, I started this craft project a few weeks ago and just finished it this morning.  Seriously.

Dallas Cowboys Yarn Wreath {Craft DIY}

Happy September, everyone!  I love this month not only because it means that Fall is around the corner but because it is also my birth month.  I turned 38 a week ago and I'm embracing my new age just like I do every other age.  Go me!  :)

Anywho, let's get down to it shall we?  September also means the start of football season so what better way to kick it off then with a little pride of our favorite NFL team.  Yep, yep!  This week I thought I would show off a wreath I made at my boy's request.  He wanted some Dallas Cowboys decor and a wreath was the first thing that came to my mind.  I did not want it to be too girly so this is the best that I could create in my mind and the execution wasn't too bad.  I mean he does like it so I guess that's good, right?
I present to you my Dallas Cowboys yarn wreath.

After making this Valentine yarn wreath I said I would never do one again but I figured that making a football wreath out of yarn would be better than ribbon.  We…
